The film consists of 22 shots. I organized the shooting schedule by grouping scenes, and completed all filming in three days. This was my first time professionally shooting a standing puppet stop-motion project.

Journey to the Ocean (2023)

Cut-out Animation/ 2’01’’/ Indie Work

For filming, I separated foreground and background. The main animated foreground was shot on an arm-mounted iPad using a stop motion app. The colorful background was created by cutting out individual wave shapes, photographing them separately, and animating them in After Effects before compositing with the foreground.

Stop-Motion Experiments

A collection of short stop-motion exercises created at USC, exploring a range of materials including clay, food, sand, LEGO, and action figures. These studies focus on movement, texture, and character through playful experimentation. I also worked with multiplane setups to create depth and shot on an Oxberry animation stand to explore camera movement and layered compositions.
